Descripción

Joey Samson is revered for reimagining the Filipino silhouette, breathing new life into the terno and barong through architectural deconstruction, refined tailoring, and minimalist grace. His work is a study in contrasts—precise yet poetic, structured yet soft—where menswear and womenswear merge in unexpected harmony.

Notes on the collection:
Designer Joey Samson imagines a dialogue between two women : Una Bulaqueña, the subject of painter Juan Luna’s 1895 portrait of a Filipina in a Maria Clara dress and the subject of national hero Jose Rizal’s admiration, the Japanese lady O Sei San, who he met in Yokohama in 1888.
