Description
The Sreepada Yellampalli Project in Peddapalli district, Telangana, has witnessed a significant rise in water levels due to continuous flood inflows.
Heavy rains in the upstream areas and floodwater released through the Kadam Project have increased the inflow into the Yellampalli reservoir. The project has reached near-full capacity, creating a water-filled landscape.
The current inflow into the project is around 5,158 cusecs, while 12,880 cusecs of water is being released downstream. Against the total storage capacity of 20.175 TMC, the reservoir currently holds around 18.31 TMC of water.
Officials have issued alerts to people living along the Godavari river basin, including villagers, farmers, fishermen, and shepherds, advising them to remain cautious due to the increasing water flow.
