AI MUSIC
The most played song on Australian radio right now has sparked a bit of controversy online, with folks accusing the artist behind it of using AI to make it. This was the most played song on Aussie radio last week. It's a cover of Madonna's song Like a Prayer, released by Queensland DJ Josh Fawaz. Which a bunch of people online reckon was made using AI software. The ABC actually tried reaching out to Josh for comment, but he hasn't replied. While its still not clear how much of the song was made using AI, many have complained, calling it cheating, and say audiences should be clearly told when vocals or production are AI-generated. Especially if the track is getting heavy rotation on the radio. Meanwhile others reckon he didn't actually do anything wrong, and that publishing royalties still flow to Madonna and her co-writer.
DIGITAL ARRIVAL CARDS
Well, if you've ever been overseas, you've probably seen one of these before. Anyone coming into Australia has to fill one out. But soon, you'll be able to do that online. Incoming passenger cards are a way of collecting personal information, and working out what sorts of items people are bringing into the country. Up until now, they've needed to be filled out on the plane, or at the airport on arrival, by hand. But over the next two years, the government says they're going to roll out a digital version of the form after a successful trial on some Qantas flights.
WIMBLEDON
Yep, Sinner is a winner again. After a tight battle with German Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon men's singles final last night. A four set win handed Sinner his fifth grand slam title, and marked the tenth time in row that he's beaten Zverev. And that vibe continued in the women's singles comp. Yeah, that came after Linda Noskova beat fellow Czech player Karolina Muchova in three sets on Sunday to claim her first-ever grand slam, and, yes, everyone is still friends.
WORLD CUP
Over in Miami, there was controversy as England beat Norway 2-1 in the World Cup quarter finals. See, while Norway got ahead early, many reckon England's equaliser from Jude Bellingham came just after the ball hit the overhead camera system. FIFA says that didn't happen, though, and the match continued into overtime, where Bellingham found the net again, and sent England to the Semi-finals, where they'll face Argentina, while France faces Spain.
PEA SHOOTING
First up, to the sport of pea shooting! Yes. It's quite competitive here at the world championships in the English village of Witcham. Now in its 53rd year. Competitors each get five peas, and the closer you get to the bullseye, the more points you get.
PITBULL LOOKALIKES
Now, to a sea of bald caps. Thousands of fans of the American rapper Pitbull have turned out here in London to be counted for a world record attempt for the largest gathering of bald cap wearers ever. And they succeeded! With 22,141 bald heads in attendance.
