Description
Step inside a Pacific Palisades residence designed by Harper Halprin of AAHA Studio, where architecture and interiors are inspired by light, volume, and a continuous relationship to the surrounding California landscape.
From the moment of arrival, visitors will notice that the home is organized as a sequence of framed views that guide movement through the interior. The entry opens into a dining space defined by detailed millwork and sculptural ceiling elements, establishing a clear architectural language that carries throughout the residence. Next, teh great room serves as the central gathering space. A chef’s kitchen with a large marble island and lacquered surfaces anchors the layout, while expansive windows bring natural light deep into the home. The living area flows directly toward outdoor dining and garden spaces, extending everyday use beyond the interior and reinforcing an indoor outdoor way of living. A central staircase leads to an upper level bridge that overlooks the entry below and connects to four bedrooms. In the primary suite, material richness and openness define the experience. Stone surfaces, custom millwork, and large windows frame uninterrupted views of the hillside, allowing the surrounding landscape to become part of the room itself. Meanwhile, a double-sided fireplace connects the primary bedroom and bathroom, creating a continuous architectural gesture between spaces used for rest and ritual.
Overall, across this stunning home, the AAHA Studio team focuses on proportion, material clarity, and a seamless connection between interior and exterior environments, resulting in a residence that feels warm, inviting, and expansive all at once.
