I hiked 18 miles alone into the Yosemite wilderness to reach what might be the BEST campsite in all of Yosemite National Park, California. Starting at the bottom of Glacier Point Road, I climbed the historic Chinquapin Trail to Badger Pass before backpacking deep along the Dewey Point Ridge Trail to one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in California.
With unreal panoramic views overlooking Yosemite Valley, Half Dome, El Capitan, Ribbon Fall, and the high country, this solo overnight backpacking trip turned into one of the most unforgettable adventures I’ve ever experienced. After reaching Dewey Point, I camped on the edge of the valley with a campfire and an insane sunset and sunrise above Yosemite National Park.
