This week, we are studying the very clear and definitively divine statements of Jesus Christ from the 8th chapter of the Gospel of John. Beginning with the Lord forgiving the woman caught in adultery to His self-defense and divinity claim, the 8th chapter of John is filled with deep and significant theological truths. But more importantly, Christ's point to the Jewish leaders during the events of John 8 is the same point He makes to everyone today, "if you do not believe that I AM He, you will die in your sins". Who specifically is Jesus? He is God in the flesh, the divine creator manifest to His creation physically and tangibly in the Person, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He is more than the promised Messiah, the Prophet spoken of by Moses, or a man from Nazareth; He is the divine, eternal, self-sufficient I AM.
Since Jesus is the unchanging, divine, eternal, and self-sufficient "IAM", how must we respond today? What impact does that have on you?
