Chase just announced major updates to the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, and this one is a mixed bag.
The good: the annual fee stays at $95, and the card is adding new benefits like 3x points on gas and EV charging, 3x points on eligible vacation homes, a higher Chase Travel Hotel Credit, and a new Global Entry, TSA PreCheck® or NEXUS credit.
The bad: Ultimate Rewards® points from the Sapphire Preferred will transfer to World of Hyatt® at a 4:3 ratio.
That means 1,000 Chase points become 750 Hyatt points.
For casual travelers, the new benefits may be worth it. For Hyatt fans, this is a major devaluation.
