How to Make a Remote Control PCB at Home Full Process | I Built a Remote PCB From Scratch Part-1
In today’s video, I built a tiny custom remote PCB completely from scratch from designing the circuit and PCB layout to assembling it using SMT components.

I started by designing the PCB and creating a 3D model to visualize how the final assembled board would look. After finalizing the design, I ordered the PCBs and SMT stencils from JLCPCB.
For this project, I ordered:
Black solder mask PCB
Normal SMT stencil
Nano-coated SMT stencil (for comparison)
In this video, I also showed the complete ordering process, including:
Uploading Gerber files
Selecting PCB quantity and color
Choosing SMT stencil options
Customizing stencil dimensions
Adding nano-coating
After receiving the PCBs, I unboxed everything and compared the normal SMT stencil vs nano-coated stencil. I demonstrated the difference using a simple water test to show how nano-coating provides a hydrophobic, non-stick surface.
This helps in:
✔ Better solder paste release
✔ Cleaner paste printing
✔ Less bridging on small pads
✔ Easier cleaning
✔ More consistent SMT assembly
Finally, I applied solder paste using the stencil and prepared the board for component placement. The full assembly process will continue in Part 2.
