How to Find the Excess Reactant (see full Playlist!)

Description

In a limiting reactant problem, we start with a certain amount of each reactant, but what happens to the excess reactant? In this video, we go step by step to determine how much of the excess reactant is left over after the reaction.

🔹 Find the Limiting Reactant – The limiting reactant determines how much of the excess reactant will be used. We compare mole ratios to identify it.
🔹 Calculate How Much Excess Reactant is Used – Using a proportion, we determine how much of the excess reactant reacts completely.
🔹 Subtract to Find What’s Left – By subtracting the amount used from the starting amount, we find how much of the excess reactant remains.
