In this video, we will show you how to change a Thermostatic Radiator Valve, or TRV. If your radiator is not heating up correctly or your current valve is stuck or leaking, this is the exact maintenance procedure you need to follow to replace it. We will guide you through the entire process from start to finish, ensuring you know exactly what to do at each stage before you begin the repair.
Step 1: Protect your floors and walls. Lay down towels and a bucket to catch any spills.
Step 2: Turn your heating and water off.
Step 3: Drain the radiator. Give the system 15 minutes to drain.
Step 4: Remove the radiator valve.
Step 5: Attach the new TRV.
Step 6: Close the valve and turn on the water. Turn on the valve to check it works.
