The voice of W.E.B. Du Bois, one of Black America’s original polymaths and foremost civil rights activists feels like it never truly went away. In an exclusive chat with theGrio’s Brandon Caldwell, Rita Coburn, director of W.E.B Du Bois: Rebel With A Cause, explains how the two-year process in making the film not only changed her, but gave her an even greater appreciation of Du Bois.
“With Du Bois, I changed several times. I grew,” she said.
The brand new PBS documentary premiered on the network on May 19, the birth date of Malcolm X and is currently available on their YouTube channel.
