Description
How much weight can a car tire actually hold, and how much does tire pressure affect its maximum load?
We test the same tire at different pressures using our hydraulic press, starting at just 1 bar and increasing the pressure step by step. The results were much more extreme than we expected.
And because the tire refused to explode, we also take a look back at some of our biggest and most dangerous tire explosions—including a truck tire, a van tire and an underwater explosion.
Do not try this yourself. High-pressure tires can explode with enormous force.
