Description
Flooded roads can be more dangerous for your bike or scooter than you think.
If water rises high enough to reach the air intake or air filter compartment, the engine may draw in water instead of air. Since water cannot be compressed like air, this can lead to a condition known as engine hydrolock, potentially causing severe internal damage.
If your two-wheeler has been submerged in floodwater: • Don’t keep pressing the self-start repeatedly.
• Avoid riding it through deep water.
• Get the air filter, spark plug, and engine oil inspected before restarting.
A few minutes of caution can save you from a very expensive engine repair. Stay safe and ride smart this monsoon!
