Based on the available historical records, the Adi Granth (the first version) was dictated by Guru Arjan Dev Ji and scribed by Bhai Gurdas Ji in 1604 at Ramsar, Amritsar.
The later final version of the Guru Granth Sahib (the Damdami Bir) was dictated by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and scribed by Bhai Mani Singh Ji at Talwandi Sabo (Damdama Sahib) in 1705.
