Medical grants for children can help families manage care when costs go beyond health insurance.
In one year, the Steidinger family faced multiple diagnoses across their three children—from severe food allergies to asthma and gastrointestinal care. Even with health insurance, the out-of-pocket medical costs grew quickly.
Support from the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) provided medical grants for children to help cover expenses not fully included in their commercial health plan. That support helped reduce financial pressure and allowed the family to focus on treatment and progress.
Today, all three children are doing well and continuing their care journey through pediatric treatment and follow-up support.
