Description
Artist Isamu Noguchi is best known for his Akari lamps and Noguchi coffee table, which became icons of modern design. However, as this delightful short illustrates, some of his most ambitious ideas were aimed at shaping communal spaces in the city he loved, New York City. This film by @TheNoguchiMuseum brings to life Noguchi’s playground proposals that were never built.
While diverse in form and function, each proposal reflects Noguchi’s philosophy of integrating art with everyday life. https://aeon.co/videos/in-noguchis-unrealised-playgrounds-art-and-life-are-inseparable
