Description

Steve takes us on an unforgettable adventure. A rail ride that never changes, it just gets better. We salute American's 250 years, on a train that takes us to the majestic Grand Canyon. Ancestral Puebloans were a Native American culture centered on the present-day Four Corners area of the United States; they were the first people known to inhabit the Canyon and what remains of them are treasures to that past. Artifacts reveal trade networks with other indigenous groups. They had stone resident built and craved into the Canyon walls; Steve shows us what remains that gave us insight into this past culture. That time frame was noted to be 1200 BCE (Before the Common Era). Most of us came to know this Grand Canyon, when President Theodore Roosevelt visited the Grand Canyon in 1903. However, it did have significant ties to our Semi-quincentennial celebration when in 1776, Fathers Francisco Atanasio Domínguez and Silvestre Vélez de Escalante, Spanish explorers traveled along the north rim, which later came to be known as the "Crossing of the Fathers", that today lies under Lake Powell. Steve then takes us on the train ride back which always holds a ton of performers and entrainment not to mention a comfy ride and Grand views along the way... So please, hold on tight, sit back and enjoy the ride!
