Description
There's story about author Marcel Proust that Tim O'Reilly keeps returning to when he's trying to better understand a complex idea, which he took from a moment described in Alain de Botton's _How Proust Can Change Your Life._ A friend comes to see Proust, who is lying sick in bed, and is telling him about his trip. Proust keeps making his friend go back in the story, saying, “More slowly,” till the friend is sharing every last detail, down to the old man he saw feeding pigeons on the steps of the train station. When you're trying to learn a topic deeply from someone, it pays to ask them to "go more slowly."
