De Lausnay was a French pianist, teacher, educator, composer and conductor who studied at the Paris Conservatoire under Louis Diémer. Once quite an influential figure in the Parisian music scene, he's now largely forgotten. When listening to his piano solo recordings, it becomes evident that he was an elegant, distinguished and charming musician. Almost all these surviving solo recordings (plus some duets with his wife Lucie) were recently published on CD by the label Sakuraphon:
