Introducing a new aircraft is never just about adding capacity. It is about shaping the future network, strengthening connectivity, and creating a better travel experience for years to come.
This is the first episode in our new video mini-series, From Order to Delivery — a series that will also be shared on our CEO Anko van der Werff’s LinkedIn, where he will give his perspective on the journey of welcoming a new aircraft into the SAS fleet.
Across the coming episodes, we take you behind the scenes from the earliest strategic discussions and network planning, to crew readiness, onboard experience, and the day the aircraft welcomes its first passengers.
Our new Airbus A350 marks an important step for SAS. It allows us to fly farther, serve more customers on key long-haul routes, and do so with lower fuel consumption and reduced CO₂ emissions. For travelers, it also means a quieter cabin, more space, and greater comfort on long journeys.
In Episode 1, Senior Network Manager Joseba Garay Martinez shares how network planning helps shape the first stages of a fleet decision — and why those early choices matter for the future of SAS.
