Finding a dinosaur bone using an excavator!

Description

Our excavator uncovers another bone!

This is one massive machine, and after flipping this large block of rock, it revealed part of a dinosaur leg bone! This is the proximal end of a femur, meaning it’s the part of the thigh bone that connects to the hip. We believe this bone likely belongs to a sauropod, also known as long-necked dinosaurs, but we’ll need to get it cleaned and fixed up in the lab to be sure.
