Description
Claude Fable is going away, and I'm completely calm about it. Here is why model independence beats chasing the best AI model.

When I heard Fable was getting restricted, I was not happy, but I was not worried either. I am not depending on any single model. My whole private and business life runs on one local folder that gives any AI the right context, the right instructions, and the right guardrails. Swap Fable for Opus, swap Opus for GPT 5.5, the system underneath does not change. That is what makes you resilient, not just to AI model changes, but to new technology in general.
In this video I walk through the dark-room parable that explains it: a model alone is a brain in a dark room with no context. The local folder is the chair the light points at. The letter on the chair is your instructions. Give any AI that same room, that same chair, that same letter, and it does the same work, no matter which model you plug in. Then I show how an orchestrator, a team roster of agents, and a quality-assurance agent turn that into a system you can actually read and trust, the same way standard operating procedures run a real human company.
