Nuestro amando país está atravesando uno de los momentos más difíciles de su historia. Miles de personas han perdido la vida, y miles de familias lo han perdido todo.
Quiero agradecerles a todos los que muy generosamente han apoyado mi alianza con el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD) para recaudar fondos, en apoyo a los esfuerzos de respuesta inmediata y recuperación a largo plazo, el cual sigue adelante.
Muchos de ustedes también me han preguntado cómo pueden apoyar a El Sistema, el Sistema Nacional de Orquestas y Coros Juveniles e Infantiles de Venezuela, y a los muchos niños, niñas, personal docente y administrativo y a sus comunidades que han sido profundamente afectados por esta tragedia. Se ha establecido una iniciativa entre El Sistema y el Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina y el Caribe (CAF), un importantísimo y generoso aliado del Sistema desde hace tres décadas, creando el “Fondo El Sistema + CAF”. Pueden apoyar este esfuerzo mediante el enlace en mi biografía, incluyendo la palabra “Sistema” en la referencia de pago, para que sus aportes vayan dirigidos al trabajo de asistencia inmediata que El Sistema está realizando en todas las comunidades afectadas.

Our beloved country is going through one of the most difficult times in its history. Thousands of people have lost their lives, and thousands of families have lost everything.
I want to thank everyone who has so generously supported my partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to raise funds for immediate response and long-term recovery efforts—an initiative that is ongoing.
Many of you have also asked how you can support El Sistema—the National System of Youth and Children's Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela—and the many children, teaching and administrative staff, and communities deeply affected by this tragedy. An initiative has been established between El Sistema and the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF)—a vital and generous partner of El Sistema for three decades—creating the "El Sistema + CAF Fund." You can support this effort via the link in my bio, and include the word “Sistema” in the payment reference, ensuring your contributions go directly toward the immediate assistance work El Sistema is carrying out in all the affected communities.
Wherever there is a child who wants to learn and teachers who want to teach, there will always be room for action and hope.
