"Easy to Love" Walking Bass Line
"Easy to Love" is a very popular Jazz Standard by Cole Porter, composed for the 1934 Broadway show, "Anything Goes". It was cut from the show, and was repurposed for the 1936 film, "Born to Dance". There are many classic recordings of Easy to Love from musicians like Ella Fitzgerald and Chet Baker. It's played regularly on gigs and jam sessions, and is therefore, fundamental Jazz repertoire for all Jazz musicians. In this bass line I present a collection of my favorite techniques, methods and approaches for playing walking bass lines. These ideas can be applied to any and all future tunes.
