Dr. Pedro Noguera, Dean of the USC Rossier School of Education, delivers the 2026 commencement address at Maharishi International University in Fairfield, Iowa.
Speaking to 679 graduates from 55 countries, Dr. Noguera invites the class to reframe the world's biggest challenges as learning challenges, shares a story from his student years in El Salvador about holding onto joy in dark circumstances, and calls on graduates to be the bridge between separate worlds.
Dr. Noguera also received an honorary doctorate from MIU during the ceremony.
