Using the MarketWatch earnings calendar, I check:
✅ Exact release time (after or pre-market)
✅ Expected move from options
✅ The shortest expiration that captures the event
Short-duration options help isolate the earnings move, reduce extra time risk, and keep the trade focused. CVNA is a great example of how expected move and timing shape strike and strategy selection.
