Description
One of the fastest ways for a leader to accidentally stall their own growth is by becoming so focused on supporting everyone else that they stop doing the things that created their success in the first place.
It’s easy to convince yourself that because you’re coaching, mentoring, answering questions, and creating resources, you’re moving the business forward.
And while those things absolutely matter, leadership isn’t just about teaching people what to do.
It’s about showing them. 👀👏
If you want your team to have more conversations, they need to see you having conversations.
If you want your team to be consistent on social media, they need to see you showing up consistently.
If you want your team to stretch for bigger goals, they need to see you stretching for yours.
People learn from our words, but they are influenced by our actions.
The strongest leaders I’ve worked with aren’t the ones who sit on the sidelines directing traffic.
They’re the ones who continue to build, continue to grow, and continue to model the behaviors they want their teams to adopt.
Leadership isn’t about stepping away from the work.
It’s about becoming the example.
