D.I.Y Boat Repairs - We save a fortune doing it ourselves!

Trying Not To Sink Video 5 months ago

Description

In this episode, we’re back aboard Triton in Titusville for a few weeks of “get everything fixed before tax season” mode. Because while I’m almost a full-time retired accountant… Uncle Sam still wants me back in Philly for a few months.

So instead of island hopping, it’s:

⚓ Fixing a dead refrigerator with a $6 fan (instead of an $85 one)
🔋 Installing new batteries
🧼 Washing, polishing, and testing ceramic coating
🎨 Touch-up paint and rub rail repairs
🚽 Solving a stubborn head hose problem
🛠 Custom machine-shop parts and little DIY hacks
🪡 Lynn stealing the cushions to reupholster
🍻 And, of course… dock parties, dinghy rescues, and friends at the marina

It’s not glamorous cruising… but it’s real boat life.

Plus we share the little shutdown routine we use anytime we leave the boat for months — the stuff that helps make sure you come back to a boat… and not a submarine.

Work hard. Fix stuff. Help friends. Have a drink.
Pretty normal life around here.

Thanks for coming along with us — and as always…
we’re just Trying Not to Sink.
