Confidence isn't built the way you think

Description

Aren't we supposed to tell our kids just how great they are? That they can do absolutely anything in this world and cheer them on....

Well... many of us have spent doing exactly that and then seeing our kids not trusting themselves and ending up more fragile, not less...

We might have missed the point - confidence isn't something we can hand our children with compliments.

It grows when they wrestle with something difficult, stick with it, and eventually think, "I did that."

Maybe we've become so focused on protecting our kids from struggle that we've accidentally protected them from earning confidence too.

That's why I worry less about potential... and a lot more about giving children the chance to become genuinely competent.

❤️ What's something your child can do today that they couldn't do a year ago?
