Christos Thivaios is one of the most distinctive voices in the Greek entechno music scene. Born in 1963 in Athens and originally from Livadeia, he first became widely known as a member of Synitheis Ypoptoi in the 1990s. His unique vocal tone and deeply emotional performances quickly set him apart as a powerful interpreter of poetic songs.
He later pursued a solo career, creating music characterized by introspection, lyrical depth, and strong emotional expression, often exploring themes of love, loss, and inner conflict.
One of his most notable songs is “As Hatheis”, with music composed by Thivaios and lyrics written by Vasilis Charalampopoulos. The song is a melancholic ballad that portrays a painful love, where the desire to hold on coexists with the need to let go. The phrase “As Hatheis” (“even if you disappear”) expresses not only frustration but also a deeper sense of emotional release. Through his intense and almost theatrical interpretation, Thivaios delivers a song full of sincerity and emotional truth.
