Description
We picked all of these Black Swallowtail Butterfly Caterpillars off of our Fennel plants. They eggs that produced these caterpillars were laid about 3 weeks ago or so. Most of the caterpillars will change into their chrysalis form in a few more days. We will fee them until that happens. They remain in the chrysalis stage for about 2 or 3 weeks, then they emerge as full grown Black Swallowtail Butterflies. Are you seeing any of these on your Dill, Fennel, Parsley, or Carrots?
