[Ep. 1111] Can you live without owning a car?
I have done so for almost my entire life. Apart from owning a car for four months in 1985, I have always relied on a combination of walking, cycling, trains, public transport, shared cars and, when necessary, planes.
In this video I explain how that works in practice. Why I deliberately chose to live within walking distance of a railway station, how I combine trains and bicycles to reach destinations across the Netherlands, when I use shared cars, and how I travel to places such as Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Finland, Australia and the United States.
Living without a car does not mean never driving. It simply means choosing the most appropriate mode of transport for each journey.
Filmed in the Netherlands, with additional footage from Germany, Austria, Finland, Australia and the United States.
