On Sunday, Pastor Joann reminded us that true freedom is God's gift through Christ and challenged us to build our lives on the only foundation that will last,Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3).
She emphasized that while every believer has Christ as their foundation, we must be intentional about how we build, choosing eternal qualities like love, humility, obedience, patience, forgiveness, and worship over pride, selfishness, recognition, and fleshly ambition.
Using Paul's illustration of building with either gold, silver, and precious stones or wood, hay, and straw, she explained that our lives and works will one day be tested by God's fire, revealing what carries eternal value.
Pastor Joann urged the church to crucify the flesh daily, listen closely to the Holy Spirit, and allow every season, even pain, grief, and hardship, to be transformed into something that brings glory to God.
She closed by reminding us that earthly success, possessions, and recognition will all pass away, but a life built to reflect the character of Christ will endure forever and hear the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
