BRUTAL River Winds Forced Us Shallow… But We Still Got Bit!

SmallmouthCrush Guide 2 months ago

Description

Another nasty day of spring winds on the St. Lawrence River. The main river was extremely difficult to fish today, and even though there were a lot of deep fish around, it was almost impossible to present baits properly in the heavy wind. Because of that, we spent most of the day fishing shallow and were still able to put together a solid day on the water.

The main producers today were the CastAgain Tackle tubes and the Berkley PowerBait Lil’ General in Black Powder. Simple setups continue to produce when conditions get brutal.

Rod/Line Setup:
• St. Croix Legend Elite 7’ Medium Light
• 5 lb Cortland Master Braid
