Bombardier's Global 8000—the first purpose-built business jet officially recognized as having broken the sound barrier–is making its flying display debut at the Farnborough International Airshow. It reached Mach 1.015 in a shallow dive during flight testing on May 18, 2021, and has an official top speed of Mach 0.95, making it the fastest business jet to reach the market. The flying display routine includes a demonstration of the aircraft's short takeoff and landing capability.
