One of the most prestigious events on the European hill climb calendar once again delivered an incredible weekend of motorsport action!
The legendary Ecce Homo Sternberk 2026 took place under beautiful sunshine and perfect summer conditions, attracting the best drivers from all over Europe to the famous Czech hill climb course.
🏆 Christian Merli continued his dominant 2026 season by securing another overall victory, while the battle for the Touring Car win went right down to the wire. In the end, David Komarek came out on top after an incredibly close fight, proving once again why Sternberk is one of the toughest and most competitive events in Europe.
The weekend featured two thrilling race runs packed with spectacular driving, huge commitment, and incredible speed. However, the schedule was heavily challenged by numerous technical failures and several oil spills, causing multiple interruptions throughout the event. Fortunately, there were no major accidents and all drivers returned home safely.
One moment we won't forget anytime soon was a spectacular turbo failure that ended in a massive cloud of smoke. It immediately reminded us of the famous turbo explosion in Ilirska a few years ago. Who still remembers that one?
Despite the interruptions, the organizers once again delivered a fantastic event, with the final competitor crossing the finish line shortly before 6 PM.
