The legendary Coppa Paolino Teodori once again delivered an unforgettable weekend of hill climb racing in Ascoli, Italy. Under scorching summer temperatures, the drivers faced one of the most demanding and iconic courses of the FIA European Hill Climb Championship.
The weekend, however, was overshadowed by two dramatic incidents involving fire.
First, Javier Villa was forced to stop after his car caught fire. Later, Domagoj Perekovic suffered a damaged oil cooler on his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 during the very first practice run. Despite the team's hard work to repair the car, disaster struck again in the race when the Evo burst into flames.
