Bernie Baker's Streamliners Australia 2016 - part 1 - movement of locomotives from Lithgow to Parkes

Rock Solid Railroad Videos Video 2 days ago

Description

Scenes recorded on Wednesday September 28th, 2016, of the transfer of locomotives B61, GM27, S317, S302 & S306 from Lithgow to Parkes where GM1, GM10 & B65 were collected in preparation for the Streamliners Australia event held at Goulburn in 2016.
As we reflect on the amazing legacy Bernie Baker has left for rail enthusiasts, included amongst his greatest achievements will be the 2016 “Australian Streamliners” event he organised at the Goulburn Roundhouse. The fact that Bernie was able to persuade so many different rail operators and heritage organisations to send locomotives to Goulburn for display is a testament to the enormous goodwill Bernie had built up during his career. Bernie asked me to record the movements of the locomotives to Goulburn and then the activities up at the roundhouse over the weekend with the aim of producing a DVD/blu-ray to help raise funds for his chosen charity. The resulting video sold really well, and once the sales tapered off I placed a relatively low resolution copy of it, broken up into four parts, on YouTube. Now that I have access to more powerful editing software and a much faster internet connection I have up-scaled the video to full 4K and have just uploaded part 1, with the other three parts to follow over the next few days. I hope you enjoy the memories Bernie and his team created.
