Description
Scenes recorded between Murrobo and Bathurst on Tuesday October 4th, 2011, of Bernie Baker driving locomotives B61 & B65. Over the decades I’ve had the great pleasure to chase and video quite a few trains being driven by Bernie Baker. We would meet up somewhere before the start of the chase to discuss where I would be setting up my gear, and Bernie would always put on a great show, resulting in some of the most enjoyable video I have had the opportunity to record. One of my favourites was this chase of B65 and B61 hauling an empty rail set train from Murrobo to Bathurst. Even though this train was only short and empty, Bernie managed to make it look and sound like the two veteran streamliners were hauling maximum tonnage. As a tribute to Bernie I have just re-uploaded this popular video in full 4K. While you’re watching it, just keep in mind how many great photos and video, either taken by Bernie himself or many other rail fans, he has left us as part of his amazing legacy.
