BCCI Breaks Silence on Rohit Sharma Retirement (रोहित शर्मा रिटायरमेंट)! Will Rohit Play 2027 World Cup (विश्व कप)?
The Indian Cricket Team (भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम) is currently on its England Tour (इंग्लैंड दौरा), where it is playing a three-match ODI (वनडे) series against England (इंग्लैंड). India’s performance in the first two ODIs (वनडे) has not been very impressive. While India (भारत) won one match, England (इंग्लैंड) won the other.
However, ahead of the third ODI (तीसरा वनडे) at Lord’s (लॉर्ड्स), speculation began that this could be Rohit Sharma’s (रोहित शर्मा) last match and that he might announce his retirement (रिटायरमेंट) after the game. Reports also claimed that this option had been offered by the BCCI (बीसीसीआई) and that Ajit Agarkar (अजीत अगरकर) and Gautam Gambhir (गौतम गंभीर) were in complete agreement.
Now, BCCI (बीसीसीआई) Secretary Devajit Saikia (देवजीत सैकिया) has clarified that the Lord’s ODI (लॉर्ड्स वनडे) will not be Rohit Sharma’s retirement match (रिटायरमेंट मैच).
The speculation gained momentum because of the upcoming 2027 Cricket World Cup (2027 विश्व कप), with reports suggesting that the BCCI (बीसीसीआई) wanted to build a new Team India (नई टीम इंडिया) for the tournament and move beyond Rohit Sharma (रोहित शर्मा). However, Rohit Sharma (रोहित शर्मा) has already expressed his desire to play in the 2027 World Cup (2027 विश्व कप). The BCCI (बीसीसीआई) has now made it clear that Sunday’s Lord’s ODI (लॉर्ड्स वनडे) will not be Rohit Sharma’s retirement match (रोहित शर्मा रिटायरमेंट मैच).
