Bar 25 – Days Out Of Time (2012) documents the rise and fall of one of Berlin’s most iconic cultural spaces.
Located along the Spree River, Bar 25 operated from 2004 to 2010 as more than a nightclub - it functioned as a living, breathing social sculpture. Part party space, part circus, spa and restaurant, it became a home for a counter-culture built on artistic freedom, community and continuous music.
The film follows founders Danny, Lotta, Christoph and Juval as they fight to protect their vision in the face of rapid urban development. Known for its 24-hour “lock-in” culture, Bar 25 existed outside conventional structures - and that was precisely its power.
Despite its success, the venue closed in September 2010, becoming a symbol of how quickly cultural spaces can disappear when cities change faster than the communities within them.
