Description
Playthrough with Akari. For some reason this game, known as The Last Blade in America, is only on the original Japanese Neo Geo Mini. None of the other Neo Geo Mini variants have it (but they all have the sequel).
Akari was fun to use, up until the end. Juzoh is Akari’s sub boss and I was having some trouble against him. And, as seen in this video, a draw game results in both players getting a point, which puts more pressure on you to win the next round.
Musashi was the first real challenge though, I got stuck on him for a while. I did find a strategy but I couldn’t get it to work consistently. If you can time Akari’s projectiles right you can keep hitting him with them -he’ll try and jump over them but fail. You can see this loop at 21:54. That’s the ideal way to take him down, but it was the only time I could get it working in this run. I did keep trying but he just wasn’t having any of it. I got very lucky in beating him, just look at how little life I had left at the end of round 3.
Kagami has two forms. His first form is barely worth talking about because he’s easy to beat with Akari -just keep doing neutral jumps and heavy slash attacks, you should be able to win with that only. His second form is much more dangerous. What I tended to do was try and throw him as much as possible, but it’s a bit of a nightmare fight. I was very surprised when the super desperation move I mashed out actually worked.
