Description
Playthrough with Setsuna. This game is known as The Last Blade 2 outside of Japan, and is available on every single variant of the Neo Geo Mini.
This game’s difficulty is slightly harder than the first one, at least for the regular opponents. So it’s not that hard compared to something like Samurai Shodown, plus this game has less opponents to fight in the arcade mode. However the boss is another story. He’s the usual SNK garbage they were still churning out. I mean, I don’t hate Kouryu’s design, I just hate his input reading and damage output.
My advice would be to let him come to you. If he ever starts gliding towards you from across the screen you can usually hit him with something, in this case Setsuna’s QCB+B move is pretty good. His desperation attack can be useful too, you can charge it by holding down the buttons and the CPU tends to get hit by it, even Kouryu can fall for it if you get the timing right.
I messed around in the first round of the fight against Kaede because I wanted to show off Setsuna’s super desperation move. It looks really cool but it’s a bit of a pain to use. You have to do an install first (HCBx2+B), then you have to actually hit the opponent with HCF+A+B. But if you get hit during the install I don’t think he can use the move at all? So enjoy 2:55 because it’s the only time I used it in the playthrough.
