Opis
The remarkable final chorus of cantata Nach dir, Herr, verlanget mich, BWV 150 – recorded here for All of Bach under the direction of Shunske Sato – has the form of a chaconne, which Bach referred to as a ciaccona. A chaconne is a series of variations based on a repeated bass figure – in this case, twenty-two times. The bass line is famous and inspired Brahms for the final section of his Symphony no. 4. Cantata Nach dir, Herr, verlanget mich is one of Bach's early cantatas, sometimes even referred to as his earliest cantata.
Recorded for the project All of Bach on September 21st 2019 at the Groote Kerk, Maassluis. If you want to help us complete All of Bach, please subscribe to our channel https://bit.ly/2vhCeFB and consider donating https://bit.ly/2uZuMj5.
