After an unforgettable weekend at Overland Gathering, we return to our island for a few peaceful days to slow down before our next journey.
One of the highlights is opening the incredibly thoughtful gifts so many of you brought for us—and especially for baby Sarah. From beautiful hand-knit and crocheted blankets and clothing to heartfelt cards and keepsakes, your generosity and kindness truly touched our hearts. Thank you. We carefully pack everything to take back to Montana so Sarah can enjoy them.
While Carol catches up on island chores, I finally carve out uninterrupted time to continue working on the manuscript for my upcoming book, The Campfire Quotient. We also spend some time fishing and simply enjoying the peace and quiet that makes this island feel like home.
From there, we head south to spend an evening with Pete and Dan as they prepare for their next adventures before flying back to Montana.
The week ends with one of those moments we'll treasure forever... seeing our granddaughter Sarah smile at us for the very first time.
