Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is finally here, and I'll be honest with you: I checked out of Assassin's Creed years ago when the games turned into these massive RPGs, and I never actually played the original Black Flag. So when I got early access to the remake, I went in fully expecting to be bored... and instead I spent two hours as a pirate causing absolute chaos with a grin on my face the whole time. This is a full ground-up remake of AC4 on the new Anvil engine ray-traced lighting, rebuilt naval combat, the modern-day stuff cut out and it genuinely looks stunning. No RPG bloat, no skill-tree slog, just open-world pirate freedom, sword fights, ship battles and me getting into trouble I probably shouldn't. I'm not going to sit here and tell you if it's worth it I'm going to let you watch me have a blast and decide for yourself. Is Black Flag Resynced the Assassin's Creed comeback we've been waiting for?
