Sherchan, executive director of the Global Initiatives Group at Asia Society, speaks with Mitsuru Claire Chino, executive managing officer of Itochu Corporation, about the lasting impact of the Asia 21 network over the past two decades.
A member of the inaugural Asia 21 class of 2006, Chino reflects on how the fellowship broadened her perspective beyond bilateral relationships, strengthened her leadership skills, and connected her with a trusted community of changemakers across the Asia-Pacific. Drawing on her experience as a corporate executive, lawyer, and longtime Asia 21 alumna, she discusses the value of peer learning, cross-cultural dialogue, multilateral engagement, and the enduring relationships that continue to shape leaders throughout the region.
