ASH strongly opposes the Administration’s FY 2027 budget proposal to reduce NIH funding.
This reduction would harm patients, stall research on blood disorders, and weaken U.S. leadership in developing groundbreaking therapies. NIH-funded research has transformed outcomes in pediatric leukemia, sickle cell disease, bone marrow transplant, and personalized medicine, and that progress must not be reversed.
ASH urges Congress to reject these proposed cuts and uphold the nation’s commitment to scientific and medical progress.
