Are combination vaccines safe?

Description

Combination vaccines allow for protection against multiple infections in one shot.

These combination vaccines help children’s immune system to learn to protect itself against dangerous infections, but they have other advantages as well, such as less stress from fewer needle pokes, fewer trips to the doctor and the ability to stay on schedule or catch up quickly if vaccines are missed.

Giving multiple vaccines at once in the same shot still allows the immune system to learn and develop well, and doesn’t stop it from taking in information. The amount of antigens – or immune teachers – in these combination vaccines is still less than what a baby sees in their day-to-day exposures to their environment (for example, eating food off the floor or dirt at the playground)
