I set this beloved prayer to the melody of NUEVAYoL in honor of a very special Bat Mitzvah - bringing a little Puerto Rican rhythm, a little Jewish joy, and a whole lot of NYC energy into the sanctuary.
As the city gets ready for Sunday’s Puerto Rican Day Parade - and with Knicks fever still in the air - this one feels especially right: a prayer for this city, its music, its children, and all the beautiful communities that make New York… New York.
